Make A Difference!

cook-festival-table.jpg

This post is to encourage me as much as I hope to encourage you! I shared a sample of it yesterday on LinkedIn.

This weekend I was a vendor at a festival that , in the past, has been wildly successful. The temp had dropped about 20 degrees and all day there was a persistent, steady rain. It was quite gloomy.

For the first 2 hours I only had one customer. I know for certain God sent me that customer, because He wanted to reveal something to me in the way of perspectives. His name was Logan and  he was an amazing 5th grade young man, who wanted to buy a migraine inhaler for his mother (so thoughtful!). He said,  “she would love your business!!”, because she ran a yoga studio and likes to use Aromatherapy with yoga. He then asked me if I would like her name and number!! (Natural Net Worker!)

He told me how his dad was called in last minute to make hamburgers for this particular event, (good example of a positive attitude, dad!). He told me  how his dad played football in college, how his grandpa was pro football until he was injured and how he instead chose wrestling and loves it! (Confident, non-conformer!)  He told me he decided to check out the vendors while his dad was busy. (Showing flexibility in his own morning plans being changed.)

Through the things Logan said with his mouth and said with his body language, he completely inspired me to be my best despite the circumstances! His confidence and positivity was a stark contrast to the dismal, complaining vendors who surrounded me. This interaction with Logan encouraged me to continue to stand up, smile and bring some sunshine to the attendees through out the day, and finish strong when others were closing up shop early.

Guess what? I didn’t do so bad! My sales were down from previous years but they were definitely worth the effort of participating.  I also engaged in mutually helpful conversations and made some great contacts…including Logan’s mom!  I noticed that the vendors who were hunkered down in their seats who were just trying to stay warm, had little or no traffic. Passers by would look over at their booth, but there was no warm invite to proceed in for a closer look!

Through this interaction, I realized that all of the things I have been learning the last several years: the mind renewal, the Autism education, family dynamic counseling, therapies, the set backs, the messiness… has all just really served to make me a stronger, more positive person! I tend to look through situations now and ask God what He is doing in them! I most likely would not have had such a long conversation with such a wonderful young man (who by the way, could be a better employee at age 11, than most!) if it had been a sun-shiny, busy festival day. I definitely give thanks for that opportunity! It was my absolute joy and pleasure.

The moral is: Stay Positive despite your circumstances- there is always something to learn and some way to grow through it.  There is also another moral: I can tell Logan is well loved and cared for- parenting is a tough job and it is never too late to start over with your kids! No one holds more influence over them than you!  #makeadifference #there’sonlyoneyou

I am right here with you walking this path of wholeness and I would love to hear from you today!

Thank You For Celebrating With Me!

I told you last week that I was reorganizing my website to include my personal and business expansion into Life Coaching! Well it is finished, and I am excited to share that information with you!!

You will find more information about my new Coaching venture AND the link to Honest Aromas at: juliaallman.com !

I believe it captures the heart and passion that I have for helping people and moving them forward in life toward wholeness! Jessica at The Painted Square has done an amazing job! This has been a time of exhilaration and exhaustion for me! I was motivated through my Life Coach, Bill Cox, to accelerate my Certification process. He asked me to consider what I was waiting for in terms of moving forward with Certification and then coaching others myself? I really had no reason that I could think of to hold off, but I certainly had not planned  on basically starting a new business this summer! I have started and have already had clients reach out to me to begin the Coaching Process! I plan to continue to build my certifications and become even more specialized in the area of Spiritual Director.

I have proved to myself that I am not stuck and I am not living in old mentalities that have not served me well through out my life! I am moving forward and growing into the person that God has created me to be in deeper ways.

I know the plans I have for you…to give you a future and a hope.‘ Jeremiah 29:11

Thank you for walking  with and supporting me through all of my journeys and thank you for continuing to listen to my musings. I want to encourage you to take that step forward today into that healthy risk that you have been tossing around! There are fears and negative voices that will talk you right out of  your dreams and keep you where you are. But I can tell you that fear is not faith and there are people who are out there, waiting for your help and who need you!  I am walking this path of wholeness with you, I want to encourage you and would love to hear from you today!

Have a blessed weekend<3

Add No Sorrow To it

20171113_150345

The Blessing of The Lord Makes One Rich and Adds No Sorrow To It…The Holy Spirit spoke that to me one morning upon waking. It was very quiet but definitely The Spirit leading me into all truth. I knew what He was speaking to me about. My flesh was tempting me in a completely different direction that day. I kept repeating what the Spirit was saying hoping that, that in itself, would keep me from making opposite choices. I even looked it up in the Bible (Proverbs 10:22) because, although I knew it was in Proverbs some where, I wasn’t sure which verse.  If only I had headed that still, small voice, but I eventually did not and it cost me enormous emotional pain unlike any thing I have yet experienced. Such Sorrow! Such grief! Months of mental anguish and a lesson learned in such an excruciating pain.

I was reading The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson this morning and it reminded me of this very verse. “Sin will complicate your life in negative ways. The blessing of God will complicate your life in positive ways.” “Blessings will complicate your life in ways God wants it complicated.”  So even though it Is truth that No Sorrow will be added to your life…it doesn’t mean it will not be complicated in all ways that bless!!

We have a very complex and complicated marriage!! But The Blessing of The Lord is upon it, and He most definitely is using these situations to expose the deep things He wants to teach us through it. When we try to make a left turn, or  make our own plan to get out of or around that “Blessed Complication”, we add so much brokenness and sorrow. I know, I have been there.

Do you ever read my blogs and think; she rarely shares on Aromatherapy?!! Well, although I am an Aromatherapist, I am holistic in the way I think. Mental, emotional, physical and spiritual all work together and we need to consider them all if we want to be healthy! I want to encourage you in the deep things of life! I want to remind you not to add sorrow to your blessed complexities!! And I want to keep encouraging you to move forward wherever you are in the process<3

What Are You Thinking?

thinking doll

Thinking: we all do it. Some of us are better at hiding it than others, but no matter who you are, the things you think about will affect all of your life choices. We have amazing minds, and I don’t think we can be reminded enough of the benefits of renewing our minds.

I have written a lot of blog posts on this idea over the last year. The following is what I wrote one morning on my Facebook page. Although the focus is on shame, it ultimately goes back to what we think about ourselves:

According to the book Unashamed by Christine Caine, shame-based thinking says, ” I am not ________ enough” (Thin enough, smart enough, victorious enough, successful enough, Christian enough, a good enough parent, a good enough spouse, etc.). But those are constant lies that many of us have believed. It isn’t what God says about us. It isn’t the truth. In Genesis 2:25, “Adam and his wife were naked and they knew no shame.” That was what God created. Jesus took shame on the cross, and His Blood will wash away all of our shame if we let Him work in our lives. Run to Him! He ALWAYS wants to bring wholeness and healing to His children no matter what you have done or where you have been. He loves you so much that He died on a cross for your sin. You ( and I ) are no shock to Him! If you walk around continually defeated, feeling like you are missing the mark, remind yourself of what He says about you. You are completely forgiven, fully pleasing, totally accepted, and complete in Him! He is the one you are living for, so His approval is the only one that matters. He is love. Let Him free you of your shame so you can be the person He created you to be. ❤

Do you walk around continually defeated? Do you question everything about yourself and all the decisions you make? Consider taking time to question what lies you are believing about yourself. It cannot happen overnight, and it cannot happen when you are rushed. But as you take quiet time and reflection and begin to ask yourself hard questions, you can be free from these untruths that have been holding you back in life.

Here are five essential oils that can help clear the mind as well:

  • Rosemary
  • Basil
  • Juniper Berry
  • Peppermint
  • Sage or Clary Sage

As an aromatherapist, I regularly use and carry all five. I am here on this journey with you! You are not alone and you are loved!

Are you interested in trying these five mind-balancing oils? Have you experienced the power of renewing your mind and thought patterns? We want to hear from you today!

If We Are Working The Process,

process

I have been working at an agency that helps families. During a meeting in which my co-worker and I were having a hard time deciding what course of action we should take, my boss said; “If we are working the Process, we shouldn’t be confused!” Quite right!! We had not been following the order of things and we were confused about where we were and were we should head. Go back to the process!

What things in your life are confusing right now? Confusion can bring such anxiety and stress into our lives. If you find your self in this position right now, ask….”when did I start feeling confused or over whelmed?” That might help put you back to the beginning to a diversion of a road which you possibly should not be on. Ask yourself; “Who can I completely count on?” “What things do I do that keep me focused and headed in the right direction?”

These are some of the questions I ask my self when I feel lost and confused. I know the things that are not beneficial to me as well. Behaviors that do not  ultimately and completely benefit me or respect my person or take my family off course cannot be entertained. Certain things can be a temptation to me when I am tired, or hungry or wore out, but “the easy road” does not stay easy. It leads to way more work in the long run and usually some kind of repair….not worth it!

Keep your eyes looking straight ahead and forget what is behind! Today is a new day, and it’s the beginning of a new week of opportunity and new journeys! Stay the course, we are right here walking along with you!

Perception…

Here is a blog that we posted several months ago. We wanted to share it again to encourage you this Wednesday!
We would love to help your perception by meeting with you for an individual consultation! We care about you:-)

Honest Aromas

2-ppl-perception“When we perceive our lives as having no value, purpose or significance, we become miserable.” The Search For Significance- Robert McGee

Well this must be an epidemic then, because the world is full of miserable people…..I can even be one myself at times!

This will not be a lengthy blog, but just some thing to think about today as we start the week. If you take an irritability or frustration back to it’s core emotion….what is your perception? What are you believing about that situation- true or not so true?

The truth is, every one of us has value, purpose and significance and the way we perceive that shows up in our lives. You were created for some thing great. You were created for a purpose. You matter to those around you. No matter how bad things are, there is a way to see beyond it, you just may not…
