Slow and Steady Vetiver

Today we’re looking back at one of our favorite oils: Vetiver! Thanksgiving is around the corner, and we love how this oil promotes a thankful, peaceful mental state. It’s helpful for hectic days and scattered thoughts. Take a look!

One of my favorite essential oils is Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanoides), a very grounding and calming oil.

According to Pompeii Organics, vetiver has a very earthy scent. It is incredibly thick, taking its time to come out of the bottle. That slowness is an amusing parallel to vetiver’s effects on the body: it is calming and sedating, and has a grounding/soothing effect on emotions.

Vetiver is also pain-relieving, antifungal, and antispasmodic. It stimulates the immune system and its decongestant, expectorant properties make it good for colds.

We are currently expecting our first shipment of vetiver, and we’re so excited! If you are interested in purchasing a sample of this oil, let us know – we can’t wait to share it with you!
