What does your best day ever look like? This is one of my favorite places in my world! It over looks one of the first Oil Boom towns in history. I love walking, ( or running;-) through these woods. There is something I receive from being in nature, smelling the earth and brushing against the trees. Although my mind may still want to race and think about the things that need done or the pressures and struggles going on in my life….the environment eventually overwhelms me and I become more peaceful.
There have been many times that I take my shoes off and walk bare foot over the roots and rocks on the many trails we walk…..I don’t know, the forest floor beckons for me to do so!
It was only recently that I found out that there is a whole science behind this! One of many believers of this Earthing, Dr. Stephen Sinatra writes; ” Walking on the earth’s surface appears to extinguish negatively charged electrons from the surface of the earth into the body while they neutralize positively charge destructive free radicals involved in chronic inflammation.” They claim that walking barefoot on the earth like this can, reduce chronic pain, improve sleep, lower stress, improve energy, lesson hormonal issues, and accelerate recovery from extreme athletic workouts!
Wow! That is certainly worth trying out to see if you get results!
As I like to refer to often, Holistic Health, means what it says. There is no magic bullet. We are part spirit and soul, we are part physical. We need to “transform our lives by the renewing of our minds”, we need to exercise and eat well. Of course I think that Essential Oils are part of every healthy regimen! as well as important minerals and supplements that we lack in our stressed out and horrible standard American diet lives! Healthy relationships also play a part in our over all health- I, for what ever reason, have been blessed with absolutely the best friends in the whole world! All of these things keep me physically, spiritually and mentally healthy.
So, think about your best days. Think about what made them so “bestest” and consider what you could implement into today that would replicate it. We obviously cannot always do or have exactly what we want, but we can make some adjustment into today, to make it the best day yet with better days ahead!
